UK Asset Resolution ("UKAR") has launched the Young Enterprise volunteering programme at its offices in West Yorkshire and the North East.
The company kicked-off the programme this month with road shows, posters and banners – all with the aim of encouraging colleagues to come forward to use their skills as volunteers with Young Enterprise. Leaflets and posters have also been created to promote the partnership with the slogan – can you help inspire the UK’s next generation of enterprising young people? Volunteers from UKAR will deliver a programme in schools designed by Young Enterprise.
Young Enterprise is a charity set up to help young people in schools find out more about the world or work and the role of businesses.
Laura Gillespie, Young Enterprise Volunteer Manager North East said: ‘’We are absolutely delighted to be working with UKAR. Both B&B and NRAM have proud traditions of working with charities and it is very reassuring to know that this commitment is being continued and enhanced.
"Many northern regions have suffered greatly from the economic downturn and the prospects for employment, especially among young people, are currently under great pressure. Young Enterprise believes that through its programmes and with the help of UKAR we will be able to help create a prosperous and enterprising future for the young business people of the area.’’
Margaret Mooney, Corporate Social Responsibility Consultant at UKAR commented: "Part of our approach is to conduct business in a social responsible manner, which includes making a contribution to the communities we operate in. Therefore, we are pleased to use our skills and experience to support Young Enterprise and play our part in inspiring tomorrow's entrepreneurs and business people."
UKAR manages the closed mortgage books of Bradford & Bingley (B&B) and Northern Rock (Asset Management) (NRAM). Some 2,400 people work at sites in Crossflatts (West Yorkshire), Doxford (Sunderland) and Gosforth (Newcastle-upon-Tyne).
